The Role

Saber Astronautics is seeking a qualified AWS Cloud Engineer Lead to join their team for a full-time position in Colorado Springs (CO). The AWS Cloud Engineer will design and develop customer digital engineering environments in support of communication systems and architectures critical to national defense. They will be responsible for cradle-to-grave implementation of customer cloud environments: working with customers to understand and document requirements (objectives, requirements, desires, constraints, etc.), designing the environment in question, provisioning, and deployment, and assisting in the maintenance of the environment.

In addition to technical expertise, we are seeking someone who can also lead a team of peers, to run the weekly standup, manage workflows and ensure our customer’s requirements are being delivered on time and on budget.

Requirements:

  • Experience with design and deployment of servers, applications, and containers in AWS in DoD IL-2/IL-4 environments.
  • Cloud Containerization and Orchestration, Infrastructure as code (IAC) – Kubernetes, Docker, ArgoCD etc.
  • Understanding of DevOps processes, CI/CD pipelines, and related tools.
  • Running the daily standup and weekly iteration planning meetings (IPM’s) and retrospectives.
  • Strong interpersonal communications skills.
  • Experience with cloud security design, implementation, and monitoring.
  • Mastery of operating systems fundamentals (Windows, RHEL, CentOS).

Required Education/Years of Experience:

  • Must be a U.S. Citizen - To conform to the U.S. Government space technology export regulations, including the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) you must be a U.S. citizen, lawful permanent resident of the U.S., protected individual as defined by 8 U.S.C. 1324b(a)(3), or eligible to obtain the required authorizations from the U.S. Department of State.
  • Located within the continental United States
  • B.S. from an accredited college or university in a related discipline.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret clearance
  • At least three - five years supporting DoD cloud design & deployment projects

Preferred:

  • Experience with CloudONE, PlatformONE, IronBank.
  • Experience designing, building, and managing infrastructure configured according to the DoD Secure Cloud Computing Architecture and DoD Cloud Computing Security Requirements Guide.
  • Experience with Rancher, HELM, NGINX, and/or SWARM.
  • Experience with design and deployment of servers, applications, and containers in Azure.
  • AWS certification.
  • TOP SECRET/SCI preferable
