The Opportunity

You’ll work in the Space CAMP-Colorado Springs, Colorado labs or the Responsive Space Operations Center in Boulder, Colorado USA. The Role

We have an exciting new opening for a DevSecOps Engineer to work on a US Space Force Program - Space Cockpit. Space Cockpit is currently utilized by a number of USSF Delta's and our five eye partners to provide Space Domain Awareness (SDA), visualization and analysis.

Requirements (Non-Negotiable):

  • Must be a United States Citizen
  • Must be located within the contiguous United States

Required Experience:

  • Programming languages: C# (.NET), NodeJS, Shell scripting, Python, Unity (not required, but a bonus)
  • AWS tools (Route53, EKS)
  • DevSecOps principles and tools
  • Continuous Integration Continuous Development (CICD Pipelines) principles and tools
  • Platform One's Big Bang environment (https://p1.dso.mil/)
  • Defense Unicorns' ZARF package/tools (https://github.com/defenseunicorns/zarf)
  • Utilizing ArgoCD to manage Kubernetes (K8's) deployments
  • Tools such as ArgoCD, Kubernetes, Gitlab, Mattermost, Slack, JIRA
  • Static code analysis tools such as Sonarqube, Fortify, Twistlock Trufflehog, NIST Vuls, etc

Things you will be working on:

  • Monitor the uptime of all microservices
  • Ensure the greenness of our pipelines
  • Deployment of Platform One Big Bang infrastructure into an ArgoCD-managed K8's cluster
  • Addressing pipeline issues and security updates
  • Improving unit test coverage
  • Implementing secrets rotation
  • Bundling Space Cockpit microservices into a Defense Unicorns ZARF deployment
  • Managing the ATO renewal
  • Load testing and creating simulators that can emulate connected users and load
  • Implement database backup and restoration
  • Review of infrastructure (K8's Nodes etc) to ensure it is sufficient
  • AWS route 53 and load balancing
  • Improving the overall security and usability of our infrastructure
  • Building and deploying new K8 clusters
  • Building Dockerfile and bash scripts to containerize and auto-deploy to our clusters
