26th August 2024 --

Boulder, Colorado -- Saber Astronautics, a space mission operations company, is delighted to welcome Cloudstone Innovations to the Space Sensor Marketplace. Cloudstone is an aerospace engineering company based in Maui, Hawaii, whose Panopticon System will enhance Saber Astronautics' Responsive Space Operations Centre (RSOC™) mission control program.

Saber’s Space Sensor Marketplace is a network of ground based sensors, used to support space traffic management services run at the RSOC. The network provides the RSOC with spacecraft position information as part of Saber’s award winning satellite operations and traffic support. With mission control centers in Colorado and Australia, the RSOC provides a global “follow-the-sun” service for civil and military flights.

The RSOC supplies operations for NYSE listed commercial spacecraft as well as mission support to US Space Command for space domain awareness.

Panopticon is a compact, fully autonomous system developed by Cloudstone that delivers passive staring/surveillance observations, enabling discrete intelligence gathering with minimal power and footprint.

Cloudstone is the latest provider to join the network, increasing the operational reach of space domain awareness activities for defense, commercial, and research sectors.

Dr. Jason Held, CEO of Saber Astronautics, is excited about the partnership, stating, “Cloudstone has excellent sensors that are portable, and easy to operate.  They are exactly the type of democratized telescopes that can be produced at scale.  As the space industry grows, companies like Cloudstone will be critical to monitoring large numbers of objects and keeping space safe.”

Dr. C. Channing Chow II, CEO of Cloudstone Innovations, added, “This partnership with Saber is pivotal to achieving our goal of community-sourcing space domain awareness. Their easy-to-use, next-generation, space operations services and software are the ideal applications and interfaces we need to pull this off. Space sustainability requires persistent, prolific coverage. To get there, we need global cooperation. Even a handful of the smartest people with the best sensors in the world cannot see everything all the time.”
